The HZ Combined Wall System was introduced by Arcelor in 1972. As with all of their sheet pile sections, Arcelor continued to develop the best product possible and in the late 1990’s came up with the current system. The HZ king pile is rolled with a 'bulb' at the end of the flanges on which a connector will be threaded. The intermediary AZ piles are then threaded onto the connectors between two HZ piles. There are three different depths of HZ piles, with four thicknesses in each depth, giving a total of twelve different beams to choose from. The HZ system can use single beams, double beams, or continuous beams. All of these options, combined with the various choices for the AZ intermediary piles, offer hundreds of combinations to choose from.
